Safety Tips

Below are some tips to help ensure your safety when you come into contact with a Penn Waste waste or recycling vehicle.

1. Slow Down:

When approaching a waste truck, always reduce speed and stop if needed. This gives workers time to safely finish job.

2. Look for Workers:

Workers frequently get on and off trucks. Keep an eye out for them and be cautious when passing a truck.

3. Check for Traffic:

Always check for approaching vehicles from the opposite direction before you proceed around the truck.

4. Avoid Distractions:

Avoid eating, texting, or adjusting the radio while driving near waste or recycling trucks. Stay focused.

5. Stay Back At Least One Car Length:

Leave at least one car length between your vehicle and the truck. This prevents any material from flying out of the truck bed while it's in operation.
